Very close to the western tip of Sicily, these islands are still wild, protected for spawning Bluefin tuna and are battered by North African winds. The Egadi archipelago is made up of three main islands called Favignana (the largest), Levanzo and Marettimo. A natural landscape in the largest marine reserve in Europe. Also very close to Tunisia you can feel a cultural mix that is not only Italian and European.

After breakfast, the moorings will be left to reach fabulous bays or characteristic villages or towns, even of historical importance. You can relax on the comfortable bow and stern cushions or swim in transparent waters of a thousand shades. Our Chef will prepare you excellent meals of Italian and local cuisine. For the afternoon siesta the cabins will be ready and fresh!

It will be possible to go ashore to visit many interesting places and upon your return on board the crew will be happy to prepare and serve you a fresh cocktail on the comfortable stern cushions. Then you can enjoy an inviting dinner in the silence of the sea. Mar e Mar will be moored in a quiet and peaceful port or bay for your overnight stay.

Trapani

Trapani, a city in northwestern Sicily, is the embarkation point for the cruise to the Egadi islands. It is located on a promontory overlooked by the city of Erice (Monte San Giuliano), west of Palermo. Trapani has a long history, its port was transformed into a naval base by the Carthaginians in 260 BC. It passed to the Romans in 241 BC and flourished in the Middle Ages under the subsequent rulers of Sicily. Worth visiting are the buildings in the old part of the city: the 14th century church of San Agostino, the magnificent Sanctuary of the Annunziata, the cathedral (1635), the church of Santa Maria and the baroque Palazzo della Giudecca. Trapani is an important port for the export of salt and wine and is also known for tuna fishing and canning.

Favignana

The island of Favignana is a breathtaking island. It is the largest of the Egadi Islands, it is a set of shallow bays with a turquoise sea and is located in a protected marine area. Worth visiting is the museum which traces the history of tuna fishing.

Favignana Island has many dazzling beaches like: Cala Rossa. It’s one of the most beautiful beaches on the island of Favignana. Cala Rossa is a bay surrounded by rugged rock formations surrounding the crystal clear waters. Following a path, parallel to the beach, it is possible to explore rock walls, sea caves and an abandoned quarry; Cala del Bue Marino is one of the most unique beaches on the island of Favignana. Featuring stunning caves and tunnels to explore around the beach; Cala Azzurra is one of the most spectacular beaches on the island of Favignana. It is a beautiful white sand beach; Lido Burrone is the most famous beach establishment on the island which is located on the spectacular white sand beach.

Levanzo

The island of Levanzo is the smallest and most romantic of Egadi, it’s is an island of uncontaminated nature thanks to the ancient island lifestyle. There is a small town and on this island there aren’t cars. The Island is rich of vegetation and coves. Possibility to excursion to Grotta del Genovese, with ancient rock paintings of the Neolithic period. Along the coasts of Levanzo, the erosion of the sea and the wind has dug out numerous caves, the most famous is the Grotta del Genovese where engravings and graffiti dating back to the Paleolithic have been found.

Marettimo

This magical place is the furthest island from the Egadi Islands and is among the islands of the archipelago, the wildest and richest in vegetation. A paradise that offers great emotions to lovers of the sea, diving and snorkelling, but also to those who love mountains and culture.

Possibility to excursion to the beautiful Dolomite mountain and the suggestive castle of Punta Troia recently restored.

San Vito lo Capo

San Vito Lo Capo is located in northwestern Sicily. The small and characteristic town is located in a valley full of olive trees surrounded by mountains that are home to numerous caves. One of them is called  "Cave of the Dead Goat" or "Cave of the Dead Goat". To the south is the Zingaro Nature Reserve. Also worth seeing are the sanctuary-fortress, the chapel of Santa Crescenzia, the historic lighthouse, several tuna traps and the Torre dell'Usciere, a coastal watchtower.

Scopello

On the coast of Sicily, the Tonnara di Scopello is located in an inlet with two stacks. This place is the most important and ancient for tuna fishing. the place became famous thanks to the film Ocean's Twelve and the famous TV series Inspector Montalbano, where they were filmed.

Many international tourists always arrive in the village of Scopello for the beauty of its coast and its sea, but also for its delicious dishes based on fresh fish and local peasant cuisine.
